Christmas is over and the 2007 HRA touring season is about to commence with the "Mernda Map Muddle" touring assembly on Sunday 25 February.
For this year's event we have created a gentle start to the touring season and a more relaxed style of event with first car not due to start until 10am and finishing mid afternoon.
The event will be run in two divisions with a mandatory lunch break in between to enable competitors to regroup and relax.
Division one will start from Eltham and wind its way through to a lunch stop which will then be followed by division two, an afternoon tour on some of the best roads the northern outskirts of Melbourne have to offer.
Competitors can expect a compact event with relatively easy navigation. Some map plotting will be required and a number of different navigational techniques will need to be used to correctly traverse the route (e.g. stick charts and accurate map scaling). We have set the route to run entirely on bitumen roads so competitors can bring their toys out for a late summer run and leave the 4WD's at home.
Entry fee is $50 with supp regs available shortly once approved by CAMS. Potential competitors can email the assistant director (dburn @ ford.com (without the spaces)) to register interest and get a copy of the supp regs as soon as they become available.
Come out for a fun tour on some great roads and we look forward to seeing you all there!
