Good news re the ongoing saga of revisions to the club permit scheme. We have received a letter from the State Minister for Roads & Ports, Tim Pallas MP, that he has approved "a number of changes including the introduction of logbooks to record the use of club vehicles"
Other changes to the club permit scheme are:
- Vehicles will be allowed to be driven within a radius of 100 metres from the vehicle home address without the need for a logbook entry to be completed.
- The current 25 year eligibility for entry to the Clib Permit Scheme will be retained.
- The regulations will allow VicRoads to provide information to assist clubs in administering the permit scheme and to apply sanctions against individuals or clubs for misuse of vehicles, numberplates or logbooks.
Changes will be implemented from February 2011. It will be a rolling changeover to take place over the course of the year. For further info see the links to the right.
Your new club permit renewal will consist of two sections on one page. The whole page will need to be sent to me for signing. The top tear off will have your windscreen rego type label and and a sticker (like your cams license) to stick in the book. The lower section will be kept by Vicroads with your payment. The club must ensure that vehicles comply with the rules of the Club Permit Scheme so we will be asking for some information when you renew your permit.
When sending permit renewal to me for signing please provide the following:
If you need anymore info please phone me 9873-1412
The club will be working through all of this and trying to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Thanks Dave Robinson.
