Round 2 of the HRA 2007 touring series will be held on the 15th of April.
We have created a relatively short event with first car starting at 9.30 and due to finish 4 hours later.
The intended event start is at McDonald’s Boronia. (Melways ref. 64 K8). Enter from Dorset or Chandler Rd. The finish will be at a family restaurant in the Yarra Valley.
The event will be run in one division. A stop for a coffee break for those who have time has been allowed for. The cost of lunch will not be provided by the organisers. The selected finish location has reasonably varied menu for a reasonable price and is licensed.
The first car is due to finish around 1.45pm.
Competitors can expect a compact event with relatively easy navigation. The early Via(s) will even use a Melway map.
Map plotting will be required and a number of different navigational techniques will need to be used to correctly traverse the route (eg, stick charts and accurate map scaling).
Odometer readings will not be taken at the start as older vehicles delete travelled distance when reversed and most modern vehicles add distance.
The roads we have selected for the Event are some of the most scenic to Melbourne’s East and offer some great views along the way.
We have set the route to run over a mixture of bitumen and gravel roads so competitors can bring out their toys. Normal road cars will find the route quite acceptable, the lavish use of redirection boards should ensure that no grotty tracks need to be used.
Further details will be included in the further instructions and information updated on the HRA web site and e-group.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
