The Yulunga Trial is a car rally rich in history. For many years it was the premier event for the Hamilton and District Car Club. The event in its early years was part of the Victorian Clubman Series, later is was a regular in the Western Region Trials Series and Victorian Trials Series, and in more recent times is was a round of the Robson Cup Rally series and the inter club series between HDCC and SEAC, before HDCC ceased operation early in the 2000’s.
This year’s event promises to be great, starting, finishing and service at the Hotspur Hall 5 min drive from the Annya and Hotspur State Forests, with sections in Annya, Hotspur and Digby State Forests the event will see a complete stage from the 1996 Yulunga, which will be a bit fun seeing shire roads and some tight twist downhill descents... you will see parts of the Annya forest that have not seen
rally cars for 20 years or more.
There is a great mix of roads from hard packed “Buckshot Gravel” to “grotty” track which are tight and twisty weaving their way through the classic Annya Bracken Fern.
It will be a test for teams crews will have to work together on the night, the navigation will be challenging but not too difficult. The South Eastern Automobile Club has kindly offered to cater for the event with their fantastic food van so please support them on the night. Being daylight savings it will be a late night for all, so the Hotspur Hall is a great spot to camp bring your swag or tent and make a night of it.....
