Entries are starting to roll in for the 2008 Rich River Trial, to be held on Saturday 12th July.
John Rawson and Simon Brown were clear winners in the BP Ultimate Rally, which finished in Ballarat yesterday. They had been among the leaders for most of the event and finished 50 points ahead of second placed Graham Wallis/Phil Nicholas, with Alan Upton/Mark Laidlay and Tony Ahearne/Laurie Garth equal third, 34 point further back.
The experienced team of Dinta and Kate Officer lead the BP Ultimate rally after dvision 1. Driving their Galant, Dinta and Kate are narrowly ahead of the hard charging pair of John Rawson and Simon Brown in the trusty Datsun 180B SSS, with Doug Fernie and Geoff Floyd in their Datsun P510 in a well deserved third place.
The Historic Rally Association this weekend is celebrating 50 years since the running of the first BP Rally of South Eastern Australia in 1958, with the running of the 2008 BP Ultimate Rally.

Round 2 of the 2008 HRA Rally Championship
The HRA will conduct the Tayell Automotive 2008 Nightstalker Trial on 14th June as round 2 of the 2008 HRA Rally Championship. It will be a Multi-Club Touring Road Event to be based in the township of Dunolly and held throughout the surrounding box-ironbark forests of the Goldfields Region of Central Victoria.
The 2008 Rich River Trial is round 3 of the 2008 HRA Rally Championship and will be held on Saturday 12th July.
The First of May is not far away. Supp regs are now available. Time to stop thinking and talking about it, and get that car and crew organised. You may not currently have an eligible car, so go and find one, and get the basic preparations in place. Time is running out. You will regret it if you miss out on this one.

The first round of this year's Touring Championship will be a short event with relatively easy navigation - a great way to start the Touring year.
