Mapping New HRA Directions – 21 May 2022

Having long spoken of the importance of steering the HRA in a relevant direction for the next 10 years or so, sadly conditions worked against me with continual lockdowns, 5 Km restrictions, limits on indoor gatherings etc. to conduct this important meeting.

With Steve Young’s approval, finally, we have set aside the date of Saturday 21st May commencing at 10.00am and winding up by 4.30pm to discuss our future direction.

Of considerable importance will be the opportunity to highlight how we can continue to maintain the heritage of the HRA, whilst ensuring it remains relevant to our existing membership, new members, young and younger members and their families.

Most Club members are aware that rallying is not solely a sport for the wealthy few, who follow the ARC or WRC circuit.

We know from the success of Rally Retro Festival, Sunday Rally Workshop Open House, Boisdale and other more social activities, that our Club is more than a sport in the forests in the dead of night.

The success of the Standard Car Class and its newfound Regularity Classification means rallying is achievable and fun for people who have almost any type of car with a little ground clearance and some reliability! A fact recognized by Motorsport Australia with the introduction last year of their Speed Licence Classification.

I am calling on everyone aged 10 – 100 who would like to be part of the future direction of the HRA, to join us.

Please call me on 0400 168 016, or alan@raceshuttle.com to reserve your place as participant numbers will be limited.
